Garhett Morgan was born in Washington state to a Rhett and Katrina Morgan. They hadn’t even been married a year, they had barely turned twenty, and Rhett wasn’t an Adventist, but a devout Christian. Growing up in this environment, Garhett remembered watching the changes his dad went through as he attended Evangelistic meetings, tested the writings of Ellen White, and began to change his lifestyle to match the standards he was learning.
Garhett is the oldest in a sibling group of seven, and he quickly took interest in the Word of God, as it was the main textbook in his early education during homeschool.
He was very involved in his local church at an early age, and enjoyed the idea of sharing present truth with everyone he came into contact with. ASI Youth for Jesus played a big part in his life, and he was blessed to serve as a speaker/Bible worker for that program from 2011-2014.
At 16, Garhett began the process of receiving his Associates degree from Wenatchee Valley College through a dual enrollment program, and it was here that his spiritual walk was tested. It was during this time that he was not only in school, but he also began working as an electrical apprentice focusing on new construction and commercial builds. As much as Garhett enjoyed that work, he wasn’t fulfilled, and his spiritual life was truly wavering.
After he graduated at 18, he traveled to Australia to attend the ARISE training school, and was not just reintroduced into the teachings of the Bible, but the power of the love of God in changing lives, including Garhett’s life. From that point forward, he felt the call to full time ministry, and immersed himself in learning the art of soul winning. Through several years of Bible working in Alabama and Michigan, Garhett not only learned, but was humbled as he recognized the greatest key to winning souls for Jesus, is recognizing that it was the power of God that converts.
Garhett learned extremely valuable methods for ministry while working in Lansing, closely working with Wes Peppers and long time Bible Worker Nancy Larsen.
While Garhett was Bible working in Alabama, he took his childhood friendship with Dakota to a different level, as they began to talk about their walks with God, goals, and callings. Garhett proposed a year later, and they were married in 2016.
Not even a full year after that, they were both called from the Bible work ministry in Lansing, to the Pastoral ministry in their current district of Big Rapids, Reed City and Bristol Seventh Day Adventist churches. Each of these churches have presented their own unique needs and strengths, and working with them through soul winning efforts, losses, laughter and even a pandemic, Garhett has been affirmed in his call for Pastoral ministry while working in this district. He is also continuing his education in the Masters of Pastoral Ministry program at Andrew’s University.
